Dr. Ahee is originally from Michigan. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Hillsdale College where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He went on to Wayne State University School of Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree and graduated with Distinction in Biomedical Research. The following year, Dr. Ahee finished his internship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, and then went on to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit where he completed his specialty training in ophthalmology and earned recognition as the Most Outstanding Senior Resident.
He joined the Dixie Ophthalmic Specialists in 2003 and purchased the practice in 2006. He has been a member of the Clinical Faculty at the University of Utah’s Moran Eye Center since 2004, and holds the appointment of Assistant Clinical Professor. Dr. Ahee is also the Chairperson of the Continuing Medical Education Committee at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, and was selected as one of "America's Top Ophthalmologists in 2009" by consumers research council. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Utah Ophthalmological Society. |

Dr. Barlow was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Utah. During his senior year he served as the University of Utah Pre-medical Honor Society President. He attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and received his doctor of medicine degree. He returned to the University of Utah to complete his internship in Internal Medicine and his specialty training in Ophthalmology. He served as Chief Resident at the University of Utah during his final year of specialty training. Dr. Barlow joined the Dixie Ophthalmic Specialists in 2008. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Utah Ophthalmological Society. |

Mark M. Lewis, M.D. was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised in Southern California. He received his Bachelor’s degree with honors from Brigham Young University, his M.D. degree from the University of Southern California, and served his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Michigan Medical Center. He is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He enjoyed one of the largest and most advanced medical and surgical Ophthalmology practices in Salt Lake City for almost 20 years before moving to St. George. He has been the Chairman of Ophthalmology at both St. Mark’s and Cottonwood Hospitals. He has served on the staff of numerous other medical facilities throughout the state, as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board to the State Driver’s License Division, and on the Board of the Utah Society to Prevent Blindness. |

Dr. Ricks is a native of Salt Lake City, UT. He graduated from Brigham Young University and went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry, where he graduated with highest honors. After serving for three years at the U.S. Air Force Academy Hospital in Colorado Springs, he joined the Dixie Ophthalmic Specialists in 1990. Dr. Ricks is member of the American Optometric Association and is actively involved in Utah Optometric Association. |

Dr. Hauck attended Dixie State College and Southern Utah University before receiving his Bachelors of Science at Pacific University. He went on to obtain his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry where he graduated with clinical honors. Upon graduating in 1992 he returned to St. George, and joined the Dixie Ophthalmic Specialists. Dr. Hauck is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Utah Optometric Association. |

Dr. Patel is from London, England. He graduated from The University of London and The University of Liverpool in England. He completed a residency in General and Plastic Surgery in Merceyside, England and subsequently completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. He then trained as a Fellow with the leading Oculoplastic, Orbital, Lacrimal, and Facial surgeons in England for a year before working with similar leading surgeons in the United States. He is A Fellow of The Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Glasgow, The Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and a Fellow of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists of England. He is certified by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery Journals. He has published over 70 original medical articles and written over 25 book chapters and books. He has had the opportunity to lecture in over 30 countries and operates in charitable institutions in Africa, Europe, and Asia. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Utah. His expertise encompasses diseases of the orbit, the lacrimal system, the eyelids, the face and facial cosmetic surgery. |

Dr. Call was born in San Francisco. He graduated with honors from Harvard University and went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from Duke University, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He finished his internship while still at Duke University and then completed his specialty training in ophthalmology at UCLA Jules-Stein Eye Institute. Dr. Call also completed two subspecialty fellowships: one in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at UCLA and the other in orbital and lacrimal surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. He has traveled throughout the world giving lectures and serving medical missions in underserved areas, and has published numerous articles in ophthalmic journals. He is currently an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Utah Medical Center. Dr. Call is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is also an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Utah Ophthalmological Society. |

Doctor Faber specializes in medical and surgical treatment of the retina and vitreous. He received his B.S. degree at Brigham Young University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and his M.D. from the University of California, San Diego. Following completion of a medical internship in Arizona, he did his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Diego. Doctor Faber completed a combined fellowship at the Charles Retina Institute in Memphis, Tennessee specializing in Vitreo-Retinal surgery and in Ocular Oncology at the University of Tennessee.
Doctor Faber has extensive training in the evaluation and treatment of ocular tumors and pediatric retinal surgery. He has also been involved in various research projects including the study of diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration and has published several articles in medial and scientific journals. Doctor Faber is actively involved in ongoing research trials.
Doctor Faber is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Society of Retinal Specialists, and a member of both the Utah Medical Association and the Utah Ophthalmology Society. Doctor Faber is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is licensed to practice medicine in Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada and Montana. |

Dr. Miller was born and raised in Amherst, Massachusetts. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Biology and went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Following medical school, Dr. Miller moved to Texas where he completed his general medical training at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston. He subsequently underwent advanced training in retinal disease and surgery techniques at the University of Texas in Houston. Dr. Miller obtained his board certification and began practice in a multi-specialty ophthalmology clinic in McAllen, Texas where he worked for two years.
He relocated to Salt Lake City because of his love for skiing and the outdoors. Dr. Miller has conducted various research in the areas of Marine Ecology, Evolution Drug Development, treating Auto-Immune Diseases, Diabetic Retinopathy and Age-Related Macular Degeneration. His work has been presented at numerous international meetings in North America and Europe and he has received funding for his research from the National Institute of Health and the National Science Foundation. Dr. Miller has participated in numerous presentations and lectures to other healthcare professionals regarding the treatment of retinal diseases and is actively involved in the robust clinical research endeavors ongoing at Rocky Mountain Retina Consultants. |

Dr. Wickens was born in Panorama City, California. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Utah, followed by an M.D. degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed an internship at the University of California San Francisco, followed by a residency in ophthalmology at Washington University in St. Louis. He served as Chief Resident and Ocular Trauma Chief at Washington University, followed by a Vitreoretinal Fellowship at the Barnes Retina Institute at Washington University. Dr. Wickens has been involved in clinical research regarding macular degeneration and surgical techniques. Dr. Wickens is also fluent in Spanish. Dr. Wickens is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and an active fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. |
