Astigmatism Correction
Astigmatism is where the corneal curvature is not equal in all meridians. In other words, the cornea (front part of the eye) is not perfectly round. Instead it has an oblong shape, causing blurred vision at both distance and near. Astigmatism is traditionally corrected with glasses or toric contact lenses. It can also be surgically corrected with LASIK/PRK, corneal limbal relaxing incisions, or with toric intra-ocular lens implants.
